CARYS EDWARDS

The Edwards family has been tending to their beekeeping tradition since the 1930s when a swarm of bees alighted on a plum tree near their farmhouse.

At the young age of 12, Carys embarked on her beekeeping journey, following in her uncle's footsteps, and went on to establish the Gwenynfa Pen y Bryn Apiary, dedicated to crafting exceptional honey. From the outset, Carys began showcasing her honey at various competitions, steadily accumulating awards for her honey and honey-based products, including honey jams and honey marmalades.

In 2020, Carys, with a forward-looking perspective, initiated the production of her award-winning jams in a facility boasting BRC* accreditation, using her award-winning recipe. These delectable jams are now available under the Gwenynfa Pen y Bryn Apiary brand. Furthermore, Carys has ventured into the creation of a unique honey sauce, and she has plans to introduce a bara brith in the near future, naturally incorporating her renowned award-winning honey.
