Pen y Bryn Apiary, currently 150 hives, is the home to Welsh Native Black Bees. Most such bees are honey bees in the genus Apis, but other honey-producing bees such as Melipona stingless bees are also kept.

Our beautiful location provides many positive benefits for the development of our Welsh Native Black Bee colonies
Ganllwyd is near the Mawddach and Gamlan rivers surrounded by the Coed y Brenin forestry within the Snowdonia National Park. Our Bees have the best of highland woodlands and coastal forage along the Mawddach estuary and mountains of Cader Idris and Rhiniogydd in Meirionnydd.
