Pen y Bryn Bees
Our Apiary produces award winning honey and other bee related products
Pen y Bryn Apiary, currently 150 hives, is the home to Welsh Native Black Bees. Most such bees are honey bees in the genus Apis, but other honey-producing bees such as Melipona stingless bees are also kept.
Our beautiful location provides many positive benefits for the development of our Welsh Native Black Bee colonies
Ganllwyd is near the Mawddach and Gamlan rivers surrounded by the Coed y Brenin forestry within the Snowdonia National Park. Our Bees have the best of highland woodlands and coastal forage along the Mawddach estuary and mountains of Cader Idris and Rhiniogydd in Meirionnydd.
Pen y Bryn Apiary team are on hand to provide advice and support
Pen y Bryn Apiary and our team are members of Bee Farmers; Meirionnydd Beekeepers Association; Gwenynwyr Cymraeg Ceredigion and the Welsh Beekeepers Association. We help with all matters associated with the industry and private clients wishing to start their first colony.
